Visitor Visa (Subclass 600)
This Visa allows people to visit Australia for tourism or recreation purposes, or to visit friends and family. It also allows visitors to study in Australia for up to three months. This Visa can be granted for single or multiple stays, for periods of up to 3, 6 or 12 months, depending upon the circumstances of the visitor.
Tourist Stream
Sponsored Family Visitor Stream
This Visa allows family members of Australian permanent residents and citizens to travel to Australia to have a holiday or visit friends and family. It also allows visitors to study in Australia for up to three months. Depending upon your particular circumstances, you will be granted either a single entry Visa (allowing you to enter Australia once, for a specified length of time) or multiple entry visa (allowing you to enter Australia multiple times for short periods whilst your Visa is valid e.g. stays of up to 3 months at a time over a 12-month period).
Business (Short Stay) Visitor Stream
This Visa allows business people to visit Australia for business purposes, for example to attend conferences or negotiations, or to explore business opportunities. It allows business visitors to stay in Australia for up to three months at a time during the Visa validity period. This validity period varies depending upon the business needs of the visitor.
Approved Destination Status Stream
This Visa allows people from the People's Republic of China who are travelling in an organised tour group to visit Australia for tourism or recreation purposes, or to visit friends and family, on a temporary basis.
